The Theme of this club competition will be Landscapes in Beautiful Britain.
The photos below, (taken by a member of the club, but shown here in low-resolution) are intended to indicate the kind of landscape subjects you might select as your subject.
Although entries may be submitted right up to the deadline of Saturday March 16th 2024, we are announcing it now so that young people have a chance to take photos over the lighter summer months.
If you decide to submit photos the entry form will need to be downloaded, completed and submitted along with the photos. For those under the age of 18 much of it will need to be filled out by a parent or guardian. You can access the form here.
Young Photographer Competition 2023/24
Theme: This year we have chosen the theme “Landscapes in Beautiful Britain ”.
Aims and Objects: The aim of the Competition is to encourage young people to;
- Experiment with a camera or smartphone camera to produce interesting photos.
- Learn how to make adjustments to achieve different results.
- Demonstrate interpretation of a theme
Entries will be Judged on technical merit, content, composition, imagination and style. The judges decisions will be final.
Who can take part?
The competition is open to all local Schools, Colleges, and young peoples organisations such as Scouts, Guides etc. We also welcome entries from individuals who are not under the umbrella of an organization.
There will be three age groups.
- 7 to 10 years old. On the 31st of August 2023
- 11 to 13 years old ..
- 14 to 17 years old ..
There will be a Prize awarded in each age category.

This is just so we have an idea how many young people are taking part.
You will need to supply One Picture (you may enter up to three separate pictures but not more) taken by the entrant personally, conforming to the Landscape Theme: Beautiful Britain. Please send images as “jpeg” files of between approximately 1.5 and 10 mb.
When you submit your photos you’ll will need to download the Entry Form.This form will need to be completed and signed by a parent or guardian, before sending it together with your digital pictures.
Final Date for Entry is Saturday March 16th 2024.

Please note that photographs and videos of people under 18 years old must be accompanied by written permission from the parent guardian or carer of the person(s) photographed. Given the theme chosen the probability of needing to do this should be very low for this competition.
