We have previously posted about the car meet at Banbury Cricket Club run jointly by Banbury Car & Motorcycle Club (BC&MC) and The Rotary Club of Banbury.
The lead Rotary Club organiser for the event, Phil Cavill, arranged with Anthony Munday of the Frank Wise Griffith Centre that the ‘Rotary half’ or the monies raised at the car meet would go towards the Centre’s ‘Independent Travel Plan Project.’ This seeks to enhance and support students to complete train journeys with minimal supervision.
The £575 will actually be used to fund the production and sale of ‘Griffiths Centre Xmas merchandise’ the profits of which, in turn, will be used to fund the rail tickets and support other independent travel instruction.
Banbury Rotary Club has supported the Frank Wise Griffith Centre since 2012 by sponsoring 2 students a year to an activities weekend at the Calvert Trust, Exmoor.
