Our speaker on 7th October was Rotarian Shari Lafreddi from Valley View Rotary Club, La Crosse, Wisconsin. Located in the MidWest USA and having Lake Michigan to the East and Mississippi River to the West.
The town of La Crosse has a population of 53,000, similar to Banbury and supports 7 Rotary Clubs !!
Shari’s husband had previously served in the US Air Force, based at Upper Heyford they lived in the Chipping Norton area for a decade.
Recently retired Shari became a Rotarian a year ago. She talked through the member profile of her club, a typical weekly meeting agenda, their committee structure and key projects of which she is an enthusiastic supporter.
The club has recruited 8 new members since the start of the Rotary Year. Shari attributed their success in this area to having a strong sales culture in the club who talk up successes within their communities.
