The 25 January each year is Burns Night, an annual celebration of Scotland's most famous poet, Robert Burns, which is celebrated the world over.

The Rotary Young Chef Competition is organised and promoted by Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland. It is one of several competitions for young people organised by Rotary GB&I, which include Young Artist; Young Musician; Youth Speaks; Young Photographer; and Young Writer.
Banbury folk - as usual - demonstrated their community spirit and generosity by donating around £4000 at the Rotary Supermarket collections.This will be distributed to local charities over the coming weeks.
Two hundred local families will have a better Christmas thanks to £6000, worth of food vouchers distributed from Rotary via 8 partner organisations who directly engage with some of the local families that are most in need. Thanks to all who generously contributed to make this possible.
On 20th December 2024 Banbury Rotary Club was visited by James Ottley who was presented with a cheque for £1300 for Children Heard and Seen.The work of this charity drastically reduces the likelihood of children with a parent in prison also becoming offenders.

Westminster corporate Rotarians put on a dazzling Christmas light trail bringing joy to many and raising funds for local charities.

Rotary joined forces with Katharine House Hospice at the Canal Festival to collect money for the hospice.The photo shows Rotarian Steve Baker handing over a cheque on behalf of Rotary.

A tradition has evolved of club members not giving Christmas Cards to each other but - instead - making a payment into The Rotary Foundation Fund.This year members who participated contributed a total of £735.
The last club meeting at the Freemasons' Hall took place at the Christmas Lunch on13th December 2024. If you feel so inclined, members can make a donation to Foundation instead of sending cards to fellow members
For members only - the 2025 internal lottery offers you a year of regular (weakly!) excitement for a mere £10/annum.All proceeds to Rotary Foundation.
These events are all in the list of upcoming events but mixed up with a large number of Service Activities such as supermarket collections and other fund-raising or community service events.
Visit planned by John Bennett to the Bugatti museum located at Prescott Hillclimb on Wednesday 16th October followed by optional pub lunch.It will consist of a guided tour and look around.
Nigel R has emailed members alerting them to the likelihood of the Clubrunner app becoming the main vehicle of club communicationand has asked for members who are not yet able to use the app to get in touch with him.
The proposed visit to Sulgrave Manor had been cancelled but there was a meeting for members and partners / friends at Banbury Cricket Club at 6:30pm on Wed 2nd Oct 2024.
