The Rotary Club of Banbury received several mentions  of work the club does with local youngsters at a recent Thames Valley District Showcase.

Also mentioned  in a slot of it's own was Alan Wol;stencroft's work with schools in Sierra Lleone.

Banbury Rotary Club typically run Young Chef, Young Musician and Young Photographer competitions but we also engage with around 600 students and 50 or so teachers each year from local primary schools and some secondary schools as a result of our fantastic concerts which themselves raise money for children's charities - mostly local ones.

At a recent club luchtime meeting (2 May 2025) our Youth Services coordinator, Bernard Goodchild, provided club members with an update and review of all our current offerings plus some potential Rotary Youth activities for the future.

Additionally we  help young people in Africa by funding and overseeing the building schools, water wells and other sanitation needs. You can read more about this on Alan Wolstencroft's website “Alan's Africa.

We also include this 2 minute video by our “sister-club” Cherwell Rotary Club of a presentation at the recent Thames Valley Rotary District “Jigsaw” Conference .
