Thje 2025 Young Musician Competition will be held at Warriner School, Bloxham, on Saturday 8th February 2025, with Junior Classes throughout the morning and Intermediate and Senior Classes running through the afternoon and into the evening. Should there be a larger than expected number of Junior entries, then the Junior Competition will be run in the evening of Friday 7th February.
There will be trophies awarded to the winners of each class throughout the competition. So please do take part as a soloist, or perhaps you could form a duet with someone especially for this competition. If you are in a vocal or instrumental group you could take part in one of the Ensemble Classes. There are good prizes: £100 will be awarded to the Young Musician of the Year and £25 to the Junior Young Musician of the Year.
Solo performers may use a backing track or have an adult playing the accompaniment and where duets have a piano accompaniment part, this may also be played by an adult.
There are Ensemble Classes for Juniors, and for Intermediate/Seniors, and you can enter with a vocal ensemble (with 3 or more performers) or with an instrumental or mixed ensemble (3-9 players). All performers in the Junior Ensemble Class must be 8-11 years of age; the Intermediate/Senior Ensemble Class may involve younger performers. For all ensembles, where there is a piano accompaniment part, this may be played by an adult. Electronic backing tracks may be used.
Do join us and help make this another really successful year of competition.
The closing date for entry is Saturday 30th November 2024.
