Dogs for Good and Let's Play to share Helen Morris Bequest
Members will recall that the late Rotarian Helen Morris left a bequest of £20,000 for Club to use in her name. Helen adored dogs and children, so it was felt appropriate that Dogs for Good and Let’s Play, as a very well-known, respected and capable locally based charities, share her generosity. Hopefully, the funds will go some way to help train a purpose-bred puppy qualify as a working dog (ideally, one called Helen or Morris) and help sponsor those Youth Group activities whose local authority grant funding has recently been cut. Club has asked that both charities mention Helen specifically in any media announcements they make and, in addition, that one of their staff comes to talk to us much later this year to tell us how Helen’s money is being used.
