David is our newest member, having transferred from the Lichfield Rotary Club in the New Year, and gave a short description of his career since leaving school in west London aged 16 with some o-levels. He became an apprentice building services engineer (4 years) and spent the next 10 years on various private projects in the London Docklands, the Great Ormond St Hospital and the Hotel de las Artes, Villa Olympico, Barcelona.

 

He later became a Civil Servant and explained how he could only speak in terms of open-source material of his ensuing work at the MOD, which had a £60 Billion annual budget. His roles have included auditing in the Defence Fraud Analysis Unit, management training & development and engagement in the wellbeing and welfare of staff including Mental Health First Aider. He currently operated outside the office environment using a mobile phone and laptop computer.
