Westminster corporate Rotarians put on a dazzling Christmas light trail bringing joy to many and raising funds for local charities.
The Westminster Group has recently become a corporate member of the Rotary Club of Banbury and a group of dedicated individuals decided to organize a Christmas Light trail to raise money for local charities.
Their idea was to create a magical, festive experience for the community by setting up a dazzling light trail through the company grounds. The trail would feature countless twinkling lights, illuminated displays, and festive decorations, designed to bring joy and holiday spirit to the visitors. The group saw the event would not only be a source of entertainment but also an opportunity to give back to the community by raising funds for local charities.
Despite their enthusiasm and best efforts, the team did have concerns about the event's success being uncertain how many people would be willing to travel from Banbury across the motorway to the site of the event. Also, organising such an event requires significant resources of time, money, and manpower at an already busy time of year but together the company and Rotary Club decided to give it a go!
Initial uptake was slow but by day 4 the crowds were rolling in as a result of word-of-mouth and social media feedback on the event.  Overall the trepidation about its success proved unwarranted and the event deemed a success adding what we hope may become an established activity to the local Christmas festivities calendar,
Thanks to all those at Westminster Group who dedicated a huge amount of time to creating the trail , to Rotary members who helped with the marshalling – but most of all to the public who supported the event.
We have yet to work out the surplus generated but with much of the ‘hardware’ now purchased we have great hopes of this becoming an annual fundraising event.

***There was also a bit of fun for children of all ages(!) with hidden letters scattered around the site coupled with guessing the number of lights.  The correct answers will be posted on the Westminster Group site and echoed here in due course.
The answers to the puzzle for kids of all ages  were  'nutcracker' and and answer in excess of 52,175 lights! )  ***
