Club Membership

The applicant must be proposed and seconded by a member of the club, unless they are a transferring Rotarian from another club, whose membership has not lapsed.

They should be adult persons of good character and good business, professional and/or community reputation. Unlike many organisations Rotary has no upper age limit, in fact many of our senior members are still very active in all the club activities.

They should be able to meet the following commitments:-

Attend or make up a minimum of 50% of the Club’s regular weekly meeting’s in each Rotary half year, the Rotary year runs from 1st July to 30th June.

Attend a minimum of 30% of the Club’s regular weekly meeting’s in each Rotary half year.

Lost Attendances can be made up by attending one of the following meetings within either 14 days before the planned absence or 14 days after the absence.

Another Rotary or Interim Club Meeting
Club Committee meeting
Club Council Meeting
Club Service Event
Club Fund Raising Event
District Meeting
Rotaract Meeting
If a member fails to attend meetings as detailed above, their membership will automatically terminate unless the Club Council consents to such non-attendance for good and sufficient reason.

The membership of any member, other than an honorary member shall automatically terminate if, without the consent of the Club Council for and sufficient reason, the member fails to attend or make-up four consecutive Club meetings.

A member will be expected to attend their relevant major and minor committee meeting’s each once a month in the evening, they should also wherever possible support the Club’s various Service and Fundraising events together with the Club’s Social activities.
