A tradtion has evolved of club members not giving Christmas Cards to each other but - instead - making a payment into The Rotary Foundation Fund.This year members who participated contributed a total of £735.
This fund is managed by Rotary International.The biggest share goes into a final push to eradicate polio from the planet. We're ever so close to doing that with Afghanistan and Pakistan being the main stumbling blocks.
Most of the rest goes towards grants awarded for global or district projects or work associated with peacebuilding or disaster responses.
Thanks to those who participated and in so doing helped Rotary towards achieving it's overall goals.
