Sunshine Centre on the One Show 14 Mar 2024

Congratulations to Jill Edge who  became the star of the BBC One Show last night (14/03/2024) in “The One Big Thank You” section of the programme.

To her great surprise Jill found herself face to face with The Traitors from the successful BBC programme of the same name.

Jill has played a huge role in the running of the Sunshine Centre which acts as a hub offering a range of support to families and children in Bretch Hill and the surrounding area.

It’s a charity that Banbury Rotary have long recognised and supported so we were unsurpised to hear Jill was singled out for the surprise “Thank You” on the One Show.

For copyright reasons we cannot show the One Show clip. If you have a (free) BBC log-in you can check it out here.

You’ll probably also recognise a couple of Banbury Rotary members, Surinder Dhesi and Sir Tony Baldry, in the clip.

Congraulations Jill – well deserved!

Banbury Rotary Club is a club with over 50 members but we have such a full calendar of activities that we’re always looking for new active people to join. Your gender, ethnicity, job or religion is of no relevance to us but if you’re the sort of person who likes to support your community and get things done – we’d love to talk to you! We’re in the process of changing lots of things about the club (including the meeting schedule) in order to make it more attractive to younger working members. As well as supporting local charities and running lots of activities for young people we’re also ramping up our focus on doing our bit to tackle environmental issues. If you want to help your community – why not get in touch? Speak to a Rotary member or contact us at secretary@banburyrotaryclub.org.uk
