Saturday 13th December 2014 we are holding our 10th annual “Family Christmas Festival of Music” at St. Mary’s Church, Horse Fair, Banbury. 4.30 – 6.00 p.m.
The Rotary Club of Banbury has again teamed up with the Banbury Symphony Orchestra for this annual Family Christmas Concert. There will be a selection of Seasonal Music, we’ll be singing Christmas Carols and our narrator Jonathan Rowe will be reading the story of Peter and the Wolf to the original music by Sergei Prokofiev. It was written in two weeks for a children’s theatre in Moscow. He wrote the music as a child’s introduction to the orchestra with each character being represented by an instrument or group of instruments. Peter and the Wolf was an immediate success and continues to be enjoyed today by children all over the world.
This is a real family friendly event and will be an ideal way to start the Christmas Festivities.
Refreshments will be available on arrival and during the interval.
